Lab results are lab results. The Mercury levels are objective and not subject to interpretation.

The story is not overrated. The government has issued warnings about fish consumption for years. It's common knowledge that ocean fish, particularely those high on the food chain, are contaminated with mercury. Specific guidelines have been established for pregnant women. Allowable servings per month have been published in popular magazines.

Doesn't sushi carry liver fluke eggs encysted in the meat? I was told (no evidence) by a teacher once that some ungodly number of Asains (90+%) have liver flukes from eating raw fish. Anyone know?

News, by its nature, is bad news. Events are planned and executed to come out properly. An event is only news when something does not come out properly.

That is a stereotype. The fish is carefully examined and tested and must meet the highest standards.

So, long story short....I voted 'hate it' in the poll, but that's not really correct. I have tried many different kinds, and while I would not order any for me, some of them have tasted OK. Of course...that may be a result of the wasabi and Sake.
