Who likes fine art nude photography? I'm a fan of it, especially black and white photographs with heavy shadows and bold light. Someone once said that every line found in nature can be found in the human body, and I think fine art nudes prove that to be substantially true.
Who else enjoys fine art nudes? And why do you like them?

Well, actually I have no strong opinion on this fine art nude photography you speak of, but the site that you told me about a while back asking for my opinion on certainly was tastefully done, though the narrow defination of beauty that particular photographer had. It is something I never search to look at, but there was certainly a difference between that photography and pornography. Unfortunately, many in our society automatically associate nudity with pornography and sex - likely due to the repression of sexuality in our society. So though I am not a connoiseur of this photography, nor go out of my way to view it, when I come across it, I appreciate it for its artistic qualities. |

Oh, and I voted "yes" in the poll, as I find nothing objectionable about fine art nude photography.

Tastefully done, I find nothing wrong with it at all; I was somewhat caught by your fourth choice, Sustone, have you voted yet? I am dying to know.
There is a particular picture (which I don't have on file! ), I am sure most of you would have seen it, of a nude, sitting, facing the camera, with one knee up, and the other leg crossed underneath. There is nothing to see 'that ought to be private', and yet it is one of my favourite poses for photography. I will seach some more........ ![]()

I also very much agree with you that many in our society automatically associate nudity with sex and/or porn. This is a very common error. I once showed a friend of mine a book that had some fine art nudes in it. She seriously called it porn. This struck me as so pathetic that in compassion for her, I dug up some porn I had and made her suffer through a lecture in which I pointed out differences detail by detail. Naturally, she went to sleep during the lecture, but when she woke up the next day, she thanked me for showing her the differences. So, I think the error of confusing fine art with porn can be easily overcome if anyone has any esthetic sensibility at all, and doesn't mind being put to sleep by a lecture or two. The differences are obvious if you have samples of each to compare.
