i love nude art as long as its tastefully done (but one persons tastefull is different to anothers)i have several sculputures which i adore all are couples in loving embraces and i have a six foot painting by a local artist of a nude couple in dance in my bedroom...the use of colour and light/shadow is paramout imho to a good nude.

![]() I was at somebody's house this evening, and I noticed a painting of a man curled with a woman in a non-sexual posture, both nude. It was so beautiful ![]() |

Like it? I create it! Unfortunatly I don't have many posted anywhere online ( I really really need to set up an online gallery one of these days - I'm such a slacker ) I do mostly charcoal drawings... I'm not that into photography myself although I do enjoy looking at it.
Here's a site I really enjoy that I think you all might like: EDIT: Except I can't seem to post it until I have a postcount over 15? It's called the Art of the Curve by Chris Henry. If you're interested you can Google it. |

I attended a number of life classes when I was learning to paint and draw, and most of the models were completely nude. It was definitely not an erotic experience even though some of the models were very attractive ladies. Neither was there any intention of producing something erotic. The idea is to treat the human body just like any other beautiful object. It is good training because it is very difficult to produce a good depction of the human form. Of course, viewers of the finished drawings and paintings do not necessarily perceive things that way. I suppose that like beauty, eroticism "is in the eye of the beholder".

I enjoy nudity in art, but I also think it can be erotic without draining its value. From my observations, someone trying mostly for art can add a dab of eroticism, depending on what kind of result they want, but someone going mostly for eroticism can't easily inject artistry into it. Since artists have always tried to evoke a wide variety of emotions, including confusion or even fear and anger, why can't a piece of art have the goal of creating desire in the viewer?
