I rather like interesting quotes. Though I cant remember where i find them all, and who said it (sorry to the original author), I'll post a few in here. Please do the same.
Excellence can be attained if you care more than others think is wise, Risk more than others think is safe, dream more than others think is practical, and expect more than others think is possible. Deep within man dwell those slumbering powers, powers that would astonish him, that he never dreamed of possessing, forces that would revolutionize his life if aroused an put into action. To me, the definition of focus is knowing exactly where you want to be today, next week, next month, next year, then never deviating from your plan. Once you can see, touch and feel your objective, all you have to do is pull back and put all your strength behind it, and you’ll hit your target every time.

You're welcome. Mandela did indeed borrow it from Ms. Williamson during his famous speech, and that's why he is usually credited with it since it popularized the saying.

However diverse their talents, temperaments, and differences, all great achievers have one trait in common, they never bother to compare themselves with others, but are content to run their own race on their own terms.

Two more I like...
Douglas Adams: Quote:

Edit: As a bonus, two traditional Japanese sayings. They're normally considered separately, but I think the implication is interesting when they're taken together: "The sword that kills is the sword that gives life." "Divine tactics do not kill." When I think about both, I take a message from it like "choose the best option available, but work to make available the best option possible." My absolute favorite quotes come from a little book called "Impotence is always having to say your sorry and other questionable insights," by Jack S. Margolis.
I felt bad Because I had no shoes Until I met a man Who had no feet, Until I realized That if he had no feet He didn't need any shoes. |
