Default It's official: my dad is going to jail.
So it turns out my dad will be going to jail for about half a year while I'm off at college, and I'm pretty worried about my family right now. My family rarely rises above the poverty line, and my dad's summer work as a clown is what kept food on the table. Normally I'm not one to complain about this stuff, but I'm pretty freaked out about how my family is going to make it through the year. I'll be working at college and sending money back, but I don't think that'll be enough.

So yeah, this is mostly just a vent. I'm pretty ****** (and a bit buzzed when I think about it).

Hopefully. He would have been in for A LOT longer (a few years) if it weren't for some bargaining and promises to go to alcohol counseling. So fortunately it's a lot better than it would have been.

My mom currently works for a charity organization, and likes her job, but will have to leave it for something that pays better. I also have a younger sister in middle school. Getting assistance will be a last resort thing if my family takes it. We've never been too keen on handouts.

I can understand that but maybe your mom and sister can get help with a housing rental reduction through a Section 8. What part of Washington are you in if I may ask?

South Puget Sound. Our landlord is a friend of my dad's so he said he would give some wiggle room with the rent until my dad's back.
