My immigration crisis is the fact that current U.S. immigration law does not allow lesbian, gay or bisexual citizens or permanent residents to petition for their same-sex partners to immigrate.
There's people wanting and trying to do it the legal way and are told no because of their sexuality. http://www.immigrationequality.org/

I still have a lot of learning to do about immigration before slinging my opinions about here or anywhere else but I do have some casual observations. Illegal immigration has not been a priority by the US on a large scale for quite some time. A shift in policy it seems should at least consider, and I am holding my tongue on what they consider because I don't feel informed enough to know, how long some of them have been here and the financial losses (not counting or factoring in opportunity costs) will be upon deportation by assessing the tangable assets they have in the USA which are not portable should they be expelled.
The nationalistic references are accurate in many cases in Texas. I say in Texas, because that is the only state I am informed enough to comment on. As you go west of San Antonio it is very common to see the mexian national athem played before the American and even as far east as Austin and Houston you will, given enough time personally meet a mexican-american (who may well have been born here) that feels the state of Texas, or at least the soutern and western parts are rightfully property of the country of Mexico. I don't know if that is a valid reason or factor in illegal immigration but I do want to note that from my personal experience the setiment of parts of Texas belong to mexico does in fact exist. I think the political package as presented would be more professionally adminstered on a contingency basis instead of the black/white approch of all illegals out but I realize that it would take years to even legally quaify such a plan if contingency is a part of the package deal. |

My brother is gay and was going out with this Dutch guy from South Africa. I remember he had to go through a lot of red tape and so forth to get his America citizenship. I don't recall sexual perference being a consideration one way or the other. Now this brings up an interesting point. I had NO problem with this man becoming an American citizen...he was willing to go through the proper channels to get his citizenship awarded and he presented a positive impact on society. He was going to school for his Masters in Child Psychology I believe. |

Not sure if anyone else finds this incredibly offensive but it just goes to show you the audacity and the invasive nature that many of these immigrants possess.

http://www.mhs.montebello.k12.ca.us/ You see an article on this event right on the front page no less. But considering your apparent above average intellect, I'm sure you don't need any further instructions from here on. Quote:
