Both of my kids are of average weight and are very healthy. And I want to keep it that way. My main reason for starting a weight loss program of exercise and better eating habits was mainly for me and my health. But I also realized that my health and eating habits effects my kids and while they are healthy now, they might have picked up some of my bad habits in the future if I didn't do something soon to get on track to a healthy lifestyle. That's why I take them to the gym with me and let them choose kids programs to attend, such as yoga, karate, skating and basketball. Hopefully, they will learn healthy habits from me and with me and we'll all be better off for it.

I can't believe there are still women who smoke and/or drink/do drugs when pregnant. That is just unfathomable to me.

I am sure that how we eat as a family is a large factor in being overweight.
If you all eat together and healthily, the kids can learn good eating habits. Terry____________________________ Blessed are those who bring peace, they shall be children of God |

Terry, I totallyi agree. I'm down to 400 lbs. I'm 6'3" and carry my weight well, I got up to almost 500, due to lousy eating habits, lack of exercise, mostly due to driving a truck. Choice of meals isn't that great. I came down with diabetes and was forced to change my eating habits, including no sugar. Rebecca never has been overweight, quite the opposite. But the whole family is eating healthier

I did discover, as long as you are a workoutaholic, and spend 90 minutes to 2 hours in the gym almost everyday like I used to, you can eat anything you want and still be in a great shape. Can't wait till my one good friend still in the area gets his union member card from his mom so we can go use the gym at the UAW union hall. Not as good as power-house, or any other local gym for that matter, but you can argue with a free gym.
I almost got up to 300 after I tore my ACL. I found out real quick that in order to eat a pizza or two a day, and still have blood preassure of 130 over 60, and a pulse rate of roughly 60 beats per minute, be in great shape and have a small amount of body fat, you really have to excersize alot.
