I love Christmas but I also love that it's over. Normally I wait till New Years Day to take down the tree and other decorations, but I think I am going to do that today. I'm ready for life to get back to normal, and I love the gray, still, quiet days of January, as seen from the peace and warmth of my living room (glad I don't have to get out and work outside in it though!).

This photo, taken last January, best conveys my quiet appreciation for the starkly beautiful month of January:



This is the view across my dining room table. I love the snow falling outside and the glow of candles inside.
