I've always wondered about the laying on of hands within the Christian tradition and the use of Reikia. Are they the same, useing the same principals? Different but the same effect? Does anyone know much about each method?
How effective are they as healing methods? Do they have any restrictions what what each method will heal? Yea, I got a lot of questions.

Reiki is actually very effective. And, it can only be taught to you by a Reiki Master.
I would say the primary differences is, with Reiki you HAVE to have it passed to you, and you are drawing and directing the energy, rather than evoking the power of a god.

I know nothing about Reikia, so I can't really comment on how they compare but I do know laying on of hands is biblical. In Christian churches it is used for ordaining, healing the sick, and blessing. However it is not the 'hands' that do these things it is God working through our obedience. I have been healed by laying on of hands at least twice and blessed many times. Never ordained officially but commissioned by my church family.

I am familiar with Reiki and know 2 people personally who have been trained by a Master.
I believe everyone can do this form of healing, and it is natural to do so, as well as to assume so. Both persons who have formal Reiki training tend to agree with this. I have done faith healing (Reiki, or otherwise) more times than I care to count (I would estimate around 50). I am not formally trained as Reiki practitioner. Effective healing is attitude. People call it faith, and that is decent way of putting it, but may not capture essence. You essentially unblock energy in your consciousness that leads to idea(s) healing is not certain. This is actually easier said than done if approaching this before healing is performed. But admittedly, first faith healing one performs will probably be perceived as 'test' of sorts. It isn't really, if you understand what healing is, and what role physical healer plays. I find it to be effective. It does depend (for me) on ailment, but assuming it is something that is treatable, and not needing mending, I have attitude faith healing will work / does work. I go by results of persons I've worked with, and am interested in feedback day of, week of, even year of healing. While not scientific in tracking results, I would go with conservative estimate of 60% effectiveness, measured by improvement in symptoms as deemed by person with pain issues or other symptoms. And ineffectiveness is never, so far, lead to 'making things worse.' I'm one who will do what I can to direct person to medical pro if that message comes to me during healing. This is rare, but it has come up, and is important to realize this may be part of the healing process. My main thing is that I really truly believe healing comes from person seeking the healing, while it is facilitated by another. This isn't really necessary, but as it is often desired, it can lead to profound assistance or aid. |
