Weeeeeelllllllllllll. What does this say about Intelligent Design?
http://www.space.com/scienceastronom...fe_050216.html From the website www.space.com: WASHINGTON -- A pair of NASA scientists told a group of space officials at a private meeting here Sunday that they have found strong evidence that life may exist today on Mars, hidden away in caves and sustained by pockets of water. The scientists, Carol Stoker and Larry Lemke of NASA’s Ames Research Center in Silicon Valley, told the group that they have submitted their findings to the journal Nature for publication in May, and their paper currently is being peer reviewed. What Stoker and Lemke have found, according to several attendees of the private meeting, is not direct proof of life on Mars, but methane signatures and other signs of possible biological activity remarkably similar to those recently discovered in caves here on Earth. Stoker and other researchers have long theorized that the Martian subsurface could harbor biological organisms that have developed unusual strategies for existing in extreme environments. Apparently, there is something very intelligent about creating life on another planet, that is not intelligent life. It ought to be fun watching some of our members rationalize this little nugget. I'm listening. TVOR

I will wait until they actually find the life.

I think I'll wait 'til there's a bit more proof, it's been published in a reputable journal, etc. before I really argue any way...but, out of curiosity, what exactly does this have to do withsaying something about ID? Same arguements about life on Earth would work on Mars, you'd think. It will be interesting see what shows up, regardless.

It looks like the earth is flat!
NEWS HEADLINE --- THE LAWS OF CHEMISRTY DON'T FUNCTION ON MARS---- Scientist report that they have found that the rules of chemistry learned here on earth don't apply to mars and simple life is able to form and exist by chance formation. scientists are now rushing to formulate a theory of how life escaped the martian surface and landed here millions of years ago to begin it evolutionary climb. rofl Amazing, you jump at the chance that science may find something that will support evolution but deny the evidence provided by science that proves its impossibility. |

Perhaps you should spend less time rolling on the floor, and more time reading - preferably something in the area of real science, not the pseudoscience that someone is selling you to spoonfeed your willful disregard for reality. TVOR

You know,
I have waited my entire life for them to find life so I hope it's true. It shows that God is able to do more than we can ask or even imagine. And I am glad he uses evolution to do it! ![]()

It is quite possible that the surface and climate of Mars will change and be more suitable for the formation of life in the billions of years to come if not the first dregs soon. It will eventually occupy a space closer to the Sun as we move closer and Earth becomes uninhabital as is Venus. Mars is the last of the terrestrial planets and therefore could be the last to host life as we know it. As for the Jovian planets that may be beyond our realm of understanding.
I believe anything is possible. We humans have been proving ourselves wrong forever and will continue to do so, have no fear.

Apparently they have found more evidence for a forzen 'sea' of permafrost ice underthe dirt of the Equatorial regions of Mars. More frozen water means better chance for life.
