Why is evolution only opposed by a significant amount of people in the US?

It's sad to see my fellow citizens fall into such collective greed and stupidity. It's sad to see my fellow citizens write as if money were the only measure of a man's value, and that therefor the rich deserve to have power over everyone else. Only a fool gives a rich man power, because the only thing a rich man will do with it is become richer at his expense. He's already shown that this is his desire.

But the fool wants to become rich, and doesn't know how, so he admires the rich man, and in his mind he embues him with power, which the rich man, if he notices at all, will only use to exploit the fool further.

The United States has become a land of fools, who have no idea what real truth, or real value is. Money has become the measure of all things: truth, power, freedom, security, opportunity, righteousness, intelligence, and as a result, all these have lost their real meaning and value. They have become empty prizes for those who play the game well.

We are an empty shell of a nation, devoid of our soul, because we sold ourselves out for a pile of material junk we called "the american dream". We have become a nation where preachers preach greed and self-righteousness as though they had meaning or value.

Can you tell me how the members of the Supreme Court "took" their power? No?

How about the members of Congress that will be leaving office this November. Do they not have the strength to keep the power that they have "taken"?

I think your view of what power is, and how it is achieved is true (to some extent) on the international level, but internally, in America, that mindset is untenable. It is (or will be) the ultimate downfall of the neocons' push for American expansionism.

There are only a few hateful minded Republi-Fascists that do this, but they sure make a LOT of noise. They call themselves "patriots" and claim that they look to God for guidance. You couldn't BE more wrong. Power is an illusion, created by fear, or by desire, that we choose to give up to others. If we do not buy into the fear or the desire, we can choose not to give anyone any power over us, ever. This is called having wisdom and courage.

This is part and parcel the impetus by small minded people to bash evolution in favor of ID. I said it earlier: small minded egomaniacal people intent on holding onto power to the detriment of everyone else. Their hallmark is their arrogance and selfishness which they smugly hold onto as if it were some God given right to be Butt Stupid.

The sad part is that MOST of these people are merely tilting at windmills. They simply can't fathom why we laugh at their quixotic efforts to prove that white is black and that the sky will surely fall if we believe differently.
