The best and the only one available, in fact. Creationism doesn't have a real shot at it, and panspermy could perhaps explain the origin of life on Earth, but not the variety of species.

Lamarkism and other speculations are not theories of mechanism.
I can't think of any theories other than those currently accepted by science that propose any mechanism for biological change. |
