I have the "privilege" of living within very easy driving distance of the Creation Museum in northern Kentucky. For a state that struggles with the perception of being populated by ignorant hillbillies, this is a cruel blow.
In what can only be described as a "Monumental Ttribute to Willful Ignorance", they actually have a display that shows a dinosaur (I beileve it is a Triceratops) with a saddle on its back. This is to demonstrate to the faithful that the fossilized remains of dinosaurs were actually contemporaneous with the existence of homo sapiens. I would have said something to the effect that "you can't make this stuff up", but apparently, you can. I don't know how to imbed a photo, but if someone can tell me how, I'll share the picture with you. I'm thinking of picking up the "Family Lifetime Pass" for a mere $1,000 for the first member, and $500 for each additional family member. What a gift for the grandkids!!!

I personally would love to see the Creation Museum. (I'm a sucker for kitsch - have seen both the Bowling Hall of Fame in St. Louis, and the Museum of Bad Art in Boston.) But I am ambivalent about my dollars as support for this. The museum itself would be fine with me - people can believe what they want - except for the fact that they keep trying to get this taught in schools. And if proceeds from the museum in any way help fund that movement, I don't want to contribute to that.

I think that the "Creation Museum" nearest my edge of the woods recently went out of business.

Well, it makes sense, since there are multiple Creation legends ...
As for the other one going out of business, I guess Creationism isn't the bustling business it once promised to be.

hahaha
This one was quite a different animal. It specialized in fossils and not animatronics.

I must admit that when the existence of this edifice was first disclosed on this forum, I thought it was a hoax.
So TVOR, since you were there: are you certain cave men didn't ride dinosaurs? I mean getting an eye witness account is so much better than the fossil record. ![]() |
