To the person that said people are apes, that is incorrect. People are primates. And no, from what i've learned through classes, Humans and apes can not mate. Just as horses and zebras can not mate and produce offspring, Humans have evolved past the point of mating with apes.

Humans are apes, which are primates. Several of us have said this, because it's correct. Look it up. Humans are "great apes," along with chimps, orangutans, and gorillas.

I guess you missed the link posted earlier. Horses and zebras can mate and produce offspring, but humans cannot mate with other non-human apes.
