By the way, have y'all ever heard of Oliver the "Humanzee"? I saw a documentary on him once; he was thought to be the missing link between apes and humans, or the offspring of a human and an ape. Didn't turn out to be true; tests confirmed that he was a normal chimp. But he did have more human like qualities than other apes. Kind of interesting. You have probably already heard all this, but in case you haven't I have posted a link just for fun:

A "missing link" between humans and apes exists only in popular folklore, not in biology.

As Lilithu pointed out, we are a species of ape already.

The ability to reproduce with another being has nothing to do with genitals or resemblance or "morality." It has to do with the genes themselves.

We are not different from or morally superior to "beasts." We are beasts. We have developed language and a complex technology, but this is just software. Biologically -- and thus reproductively and phylogenetically -- we are no different from any other animal.

How do you conflate inquiry with propriety or behavioral license? I'm not improper (well, maybe in some areas...), nor do I behave licensiously. And what's this about demanding others answer to me?

I have never heard of scientists trying to fertilze a human egg with the sperm of an ape or chimp. The ape, chimp and human species are primates so perhaps it's possible it could work. There of course would be a great moral outcry from the public if they found out.

Actually, there were attempts to try it both ways by a Russian scientist, Ilya Ivanov, during the Stalin regime. It was a complete failure (as one with a basic biology education would expect).

Well, technically I answer to my mother always. I answer to the law and at work to my boss.
