you don't have to be religious to consider ID as a possibility.

Actually HelpMe has a point.
ID was created to take the religion out of creationism to give it a more "reputable" face. His point could loom pretty large in this lawsuit. The problem arises in the actual teaching of ID in a classroom. You cannot seriously discuss the possibilty without discussing who or what this designer us. Thats where the religion comes in unless teachers give equal time to ET phenomena.

Intelligent design could be valid as long as one does not leave it at that. I'm not sure it is something that should be taught at school though. In school we should be taught how things work not why. 'Why' is for religion or whatever other path one takes.

Evolution is a scientific theory that has been a part of main stream science for more than a century. It is usefull for showing not only how life formed, but the process a theory goes through from conception to modification and refinement. Evolution as it stands now is not the exact same theory that Darwin put forth almost a century and half ago.
the shows my continuing frustration at the insistance that the bible is science and that Christian ideology is sacrosanct. Religion is not science. As I said earlier evolution says NOTHING about gods existance or non existance. If something like evolution threatens you religion so much, you need more/better faith. IMHO. wa:do |
