I like to look at evidence.
![]() I love cryptids, and many of them may be genuine... but many of them aren't. Or are good as pieces of modern mythology. Humans love mystery and bigfoot fills a psycological need, like Nessy. wa:do

Actually guys, before I started acting silly with you, (Sorry got company in the mean time) I was going to say that years ago there was suppose to be a Hairy type creature (besides some of you guys here on the forum)
Any way this whatever it was suppose to be was located somewhere in the area of Fouke, Arkansas. I don't know if they still claim that or not. I believe I saw it on a tv program based on folklore and legends

But don't worry I wont be making any more posts that don't conform to the conservative standards that obviously are upheld with vigour here.
I will retain an open mind on all matters, you lot can do what the hell you like, like burger king....Have It Your Way. |

I consider human witness accounts to be evidence, not necessarily empirical perhaps, maybe I have misplaced faith in this respect but regardless I will accept on face value what I am told, especially if it is consistant with other statements eleswhere.

I'm skeptical, so I won't believe any old tale, but at the same time I like to think I have an open mind. I believe bigfoot has a basis in reality, but then I also think mermaids do too (hence my stubborn adherance to AAH painted wolf ![]() ).

I am a serious scientist, a chemist primarily, but my interests lie with planetary geology and the infant science of xeno biology, so I have to keep an open mind, to a point obviously. Mermaids eh? Well it would not be the first time a land mammal has returned to the oceans eh? Last edited by Tau; 05-10-2008 at 04:55 AM. |

I'm a scientist too, but not a serious one. I think if you take science too seriously, like if you take religion too seriously, you're gonna develop a complex.
So, I like to support fringe theories where I can, like the AAH even though conventional wisdom is against it. When everybody believes in and thus researches exactly the same thing, science gets stagnant, we need the imaginative thinkers as well as the boffins. All IMHO of course ![]()

I'd say more cognition than imagination
