In another thread, buddhabee asserted that:
They have found no missing links as yet so far between even cro-magnon man and humans. Apes are out of the question. They have not proved anything there either except that we are a bubble off on genetics. I started this thread to discuss this topic. Before I begin, buddhabee, is there anything you want to expand or clarify in that statement?

Of course there are no links to be found betwen Cro-Magnons and modern humans -- they're identical -- same species, same subspecies. We are Cro-Magnons -- with cars.
"Apes are out of the question" ??? You write this as though it were some self-evident truth -- It's not. Truly, you need to expand.... |

The human evolutionary family tree is pretty complete, no doubt we have a few missing cousins and half-siblings lost in the mists of time, but they're unnecessary to see a clear lineage from my pro-simian ancestors up to myself. Anyone who denies this simply hasn't looked at the evidence. Here's a simple starter; Evolutionary Trees

Slowly @ first, periodically in leaps and bounds, then slowly again, then...still evolving. Etc.

I thought you didn't believe in evolution?

I question it, I think critically about it; but I have said it's good science, a good theory and that it describes a processes of nature that people need to know about. Why would you think I don't believe in it? I don't recall ever saying that. I acknowlege Evolution.

I'm a theorist @ heart, and I've got ideas about how things came to be several different ways in my mind. I don't know which one actually occured, but the one that makes the most sense to me and pops up most often is creation ex nihilo, yes. Of course, things created can and do still evolve.

Humans evolved in exactly the same way as all other organisms, by mutation and natural selection, it really isn't that complex a scientific theory, a moderately intelligent child could grasp the concept.
It's more about denial and clinging to another belief that..well..is erroneous. Last edited by Tau; 05-02-2008 at 02:42 PM. |
