What nonsense is this. Humans were created about 6000 years ago by a loving caring God. He even made them in his own image and gave them all perfect lives with no pain, no disease, no sadness. He even lets them go live with him when their earthly bodies die.

Note that the article does not say that "Humans may be older than first thought" but, rather, that "[t]he finds provide further evidence for the great antiquity of human occupation on the continent."

A lot hinges on how wide your definition of "human" is. These people were hominids, to be sure, but there are far older hominids known.
The only unique aspect of this is their location at a time preceding The Great Migration. |

I was just about to ask. Hominoid taxonomy has been changed more then once I'm sure. But what is considered a human hasn't as much right?

Quote:
"Human" is a layman's term, so its definition is pretty fluid. One person may consider Australopithecenes primitive humans, others may reserve the designation strictly for those in Homo. Hominid taxonomy changes as knowledge of early hominids accumulates. The phylogenetic tree will be be pruned, grafted, reshaped and trimmed for a long time to come. |

Human "oid", from the Greek meaning "resembling" is a pretty wide open term too. Apes resemble humans, so do little grey men from flying saucers. The aliens obviously would have no taxonomic relationship at all to any terrestrial life form, yet, as depicted in the media, are clearly humanoid.
