Yes, this was pretty much my view around 6 years ago. I don't think this fits the standard definition of God, though. I think when most people say, "God," they're referring to an immaterial, or purely spiritual being, that cannot be perceived with any sense. I don't have a problem with your view, I just think it doesn't clarify to call it "God." And while you may believe that the universe is a sapient organism, and for all we know it might be, and we may be but an electron in an atom in a cell in Its body, (1) there would be no way to know this (2) What difference would it make to your life?

Again, one must define your god concept explicitly, not implicitly thru "nature" or the "universe", otherwise, the term "god" has no real meaning.

I see God as Nature.

Much like Storm,
"God" for me is the Living Sentient UniVerse. Often I don't use the term God though, because people so tend to see God=Christian God. I see the UniVerse around me at all times. The communicative/interactive sentience of the UniVerse arises here... and there... in the symbolisms and syncronicities of everything and anything. The Living Universe (God) has spoken to me in keys, forests, windows, colors, water, pool floaty toys, bathrooms, open and closed gates, numbers, string, leaves, holidays, my van and yes... of course (literal) signs. (to name only a few), both in the events, circumstances and syncronicities ("coincidences") of my waking life... and the insights and symbolisms of my dream states (and inner visions). Every single thing in all of creation (both god/man) has the potential to speak of many greater and deeper things. Life is a Language.
