Of course. In my beliefs, creation is not separate from God. God is in creation and creation is in God. Therefore I see God in nature...especially the animals...some of them show us unconditional love, something which many humans have not yet mastered.

If any species would keep altering the world for both good and bad (although that would be an opinion) in such a way that everything would keep on working, even though it's no longer the original, wouldn't you say it would still be balanced?

I would agree with this somewhat. There have been other natural disasters that have unbalanced and devastated the planetary ecosystem but currently we who are responsible for the 6th known mass extinction.

If God is in nature then that includes us and all the tragedy, suffering and needless destruction we cause and also sometimes witness in nature itself. Civilisation can be thought of as a giant human support structure for easing the pain of existence but until we can face our own existence in such a way that doesn't undermine the wider ecosystem that we depend upon then we aren't really liberating ourselves so much as going in circles.

I don't believe any religion has yet presented a working solution to this that is effective enough to break the vicious cycle. I suspect, perhaps you disagree?

I wouldn't because I have a holarchic view of nature. I think we are violating the relationships of natural codependent hierarchies and thus are undermining both our long term health and the health of the ecosystem as a whole.

But surely the reason humankind is so destructive is because we have come to view ourselves as something separate from the natural world. If we were to come to understand that we are part of nature, not separate from it, we would likely be much less destructive.
