A popular measurement theory is that a large amount of energy is required to produce a little physical "matter", id est: E=MC². According to Judeo-Christian Genesis chronology, production of physical "matter" complexes is simply called "dust of the ground". Requiring an "abundance" of none-carbon based, none-time dependent "divine" intelligent "life-giving" "dynamic energy" to have made and to do things with.

To have a need for and produce the monitor you are seeing this writing on, required intelligent purpose for its existence and for its production from the "dust of the ground". So that highly intelligent carbon-based living physical "souls", the combined "spirit of life" and flesh of the "dust of the ground", like you, can "read" and comprehend the writings.

For the monitor to purposefully function, requires enormous amounts of intelligently designed and produced complementary support of many talented and experienced mental and physical disciplines. Requirements are, intelligently tailored hardware from "dust of the ground" and none-physical intelligently written and "debugged" "software" to give it a pseudo "spirit of life" (artificial intelligence).

To make from the "dust of the ground", lifeless, complex, none-conscious, none-intelligent, none-self-replicating mechanics, requires monumental live intelligence. How much more live intelligence was required to write the "instruction set" to make living You in the highly complex orderly womb of your loving mother, the life, hard-to-imagine complex, conscious, intelligent, paired replicating capable, You "living soul", from the same "dust of the (same) ground"? In obedience to the same laws of physics.

All animate and inanimate "physical matter" is bound in time, subject to and precisely obeying the same "In the beginning" established laws of physics. It is types of and degrees of Intelligence which produce / reproduce diversity of "creations" from the "dust of the ground". Aeons of "dust of the ground" is not purpose intelligent nor wisdom capable nor energetic powerful to produce anything. Intelligent Purpose is Creative. You, alive and intelligent are Capable. It is not wise to give lifelessness creative credit (idolatry).

Take away Intelligent Maintenance and all intelligent designed "creations" return to "the dust of the ground from which you are taken". Remove "instinctive wisdom" (automated programming) and intelligent continuance ceases. Further, throughout past and present ages of imperfections, eventually, "... for dust you are and to dust you will return" constant births and deaths prove it to be so.

None-carbon based, none-time dependent "divine" intelligent "source of life" is required to have purpose for time and matter, in Time. "And God proceeded to bless the seventh day (seventh relative time period) and make it sacred, because on it he has been resting from all his work that God has created for the purpose of making." That time of "resting" from "creating" anything new, relative to earth, is still ongoing. Though the Creator is constantly maintaining what was created. God’s Master Worker stated, "My Father has kept working until now, and I (Christ Jesus) keep working."

The above observations are according to the Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek Scriptures (Bible Canon) of YHWH, "He Causes To Become". The "Alpha and the Omega". The "Amen".

Are you saying that because a computer had to have been designed by intelligence than life must also have been designed by intelligence?
One of the main problems I have with this argument is that it assumes intelligence can exist separate from physical life forms.

When we observe something like a computer being designed and created by intelligence, we see that the intelligence comes from a living, physical human being. There is no observable evidence that intelligence can exist separate from a physical, living organism.

Answer to your question - Yes.
Existence indicates that greater intelligence is required to android, clone, create, procreate, replicate, etc. equal or lesser intelligence. Life is of a higher order than inanimate "creations/productions". So greater "life" is required to "create" life of a lesser order, of a lower magnitude (of a lower glory, of a lower brightness). Such as Us, physical Mankind.

According to ancient Judeo-Christian "Bible" records, none-physical invisible intelligence exists long before physically visible time-life was brought into existence. Genesis states that it is the much more intelligent and powerful invisible life which "created" the visible physical Universe and the eventual "dust of the ground" on earth. Like saying; a type of nobler intelligent life of invisible higher energy is (first) and then that intelligent life made (converted) some of its energy to physical time-mass. ... As stated before, similar to; E=MC².

Relative to"our" known physical Universe, the Genesis 1:1 prologue states: "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." ....... Of His own "invisible abundant dynamic energy".
Genesis 1:2 through 2:3 chronologically outlines actions in time-periods relating to and observed from "the surface of the earth", looking up and out toward "heavens" (space, outer-space, stars, etc.).

These same Scriptures state that it is "physical, living organisms" which cannot live without "divine spirit", "life force" from the "Creator" called YHWH* in Hebrew.
Genesis 2:7 states: "And Jehovah** God proceeded to form the man out of dust from the ground and (then) to blow into his nostrils the breath of life (not air, but breath of life), and (then) the man came to be a living soul." The combination of "spirit of life", "ru'ach", activating a physical formed body "out of the dust from the ground" constitutes a "living soul", a "ne'phesh", a physical breather. Including animal, bird and fish life, "souls".
* YHWH are the Tetragrammaton consonants of God’s Name; vowels were added by the Hebrew readers.
** "Jehovah" is a common English transliteration of YHWH.
