Various people assert that evolution does not occur. I can not present irefutable evidence to counter that. What I would like to know is what is it exactly that is contested within the field of evolutionary biology? Natural Selection? Mutation and mutational rates? Genetic drift? Speciation?

I think most of the people who don't "believe" in evolution agree that microevolution is possible, but do not believe in macroevolution. So they agree that it is possible for changes to occur within a species over time, but NOT for one species to give rise to new species.

This always strikes my as a problem with human scope and not science's failing. It may be difficult to visualise how all of the pressures on organisms give rise to change, but we can't blame evolutionary biology for our limits.

I think that most non-evolutionists protest the idea that humans aren't the pinnicle of all creation made soly by the hand of god to walk talk and look like god.

So most non-evolutionists believe that natural or selectively bred change occurrs but stops dead at some point before there is enough change to warrant designation as a separate species?
How does the change know when to stop? |

Any theists/creationists/no-evolution-types have anything they would like to add to this?
