Most of the time, Americans just think of Canada as kind of a hat.
Have no fear, though -- Canadian Press and Decima Research did a survey last year (
PDF here) that found that:
- 34% of Canadians believe that human beings have developed over millions of years from less advanced forms of life, but God guided this process.
- 29% of Canadians believe that God had no part in the creation or development of human beings.
- 26% of Canadians believe that God created human beings pretty much in their present form at one time within the last 10,000 years or so.
Belief in Creationism is lowest in Quebec, Alberta, and British Columbia, and is lower among urban dwellers than among rural residents.
