Evolution opponents suffer setback

TOPEKA, Kansas (AP) -- Conservative Republicans who pushed anti-evolution standards back into Kansas schools last year have lost control of the state Board of Education once again.
The most closely watched race was in western Kansas, where incumbent conservative Connie Morris lost her GOP primary Tuesday. The former teacher had described evolution as "an age-old fairy tale" and "a nice bedtime story" unsupported by science.
As a result of Tuesday's vote, board members and candidates who believe evolution is well-supported by evidence will have a 6-4 majority. Evolution skeptics had entered the election with a 6-4 majority.

I must say for once, good for Kansas .

I think a more appropiate title would be "Bad news for the creationist crowd." Intelligent design does not always exclude evolution.

Science should not be up for a popular vote in the first place. Kansas is recovering from a period of juvenile denial of reality.

I guess that means it's over and an accepted fact that evolution is true and creation is ousted! This means absolutely nothing to creationists who believe that is not about the proof or disproof of evolution,or what a left wing,right wing, intelligent ,scientific philosophical studies show.
It is truly about what God says and what the Holy Spirit confirms inside every born again believer that matters,therefore we are not as alarmed as some might think.
We are little more confident in what is unseen and resides within then what appears in the seen and resides outside.Things that are seen are temporary things that are unseen are eternal

agreed.

many theists combine their beliefs with evolution, that is one of the options that Roli is not concidering.
