I believe leaky is mistaken. As long as people need religion there will be those, quite a few I'm afraid, who will never be able to accept evolution as long as they regard it in opposition to their faith. If their faith says black is white no amount of evidence or logic is going to change their belief that it's so. They can't afford to have any chinks in the armor of their faith.

yeah... unfortunately they have just been using the same old arguments since the 1600's. I doubt that they are going to just stop parroting any time soon.

"Sometime in the next 15 to 30 years, the Kenyan-born paleoanthropologist expects scientific discoveries will have accelerated to the point that "even the skeptics can accept it." In other words the evidence isn't there yet.

"His friend, Paul Simon, performed at a May 2 fundraiser for the institute in Manhattan that collected more than $2 million." Somebody's getting rich promoting evolution. But I'm sure that has nothing to do with it.

False, and its a blatant misrepresentation of facts, due to theistic brainwashing enhancing severe ignorance on the subject at hand.

thast nothing compared to the 44 million raised yearly by creationist websites preying on the ignorant theist promoting false dogma with no credibility.

Yah, the non-profit Turkana Basin Institute.
"Dr. Richard Leakey is the first to admit that his friendship with Paul Simon is unlikely. "I really don't like music and he really doesn't like old bones," Leakey told the audience at last night's intimate fundraiser for the Turkana Basin Institute (T.B.I.), a non-profit organization dedicated to assembling a full fossil record of humanity's origins in Sub-Saharan Africa.

The Turkana Basin Institute is an international, multi-disciplinary organization supporting scientific research in the Turkana Basin region of northern Kenya.

Have faith guys! I mean, there were arguments still after the earth was proven spherical, but hey, it ended right?

I see the fine art of cherry picking and misrepresentation have yet to die out.
