In France if you are a criminal you will not be treated well. I don't think they could care less if the criminals human rights were violated. My sister lived in France for a year and got assaulted, the police were on the other side of the road and beat the assailants unconscious before throwing them in prison, the assailants were deported.

Doesn't sound so bad to me. Detained for 6 days without counsel? The UK is lobbying for 42 days! 6 days sounds downright merciful. Human Rights Watch might be scraping the bottom of the barrel here looking for abuses. |
