or even more comprehensively put, in Islam one is in favor to Allah when one to submits to Allahs' will. Where as in Christianity you can accept Jesus as your savior and be off the hook for things you did in defiance to God in Islam your actions are a product of your faith. To be gay is to defy the word of Allah which makes the idea of homosexuality and apostasy cousins by deed. In short a gay Muslim has the same status as a heterosexual atheist in Islam.

Also disturbing though is the UK's slow move towards granting authority and validity to sharia law. If this Iranian had been in France, Germany or the USA he likely would have been granted immunity from Iranian Theocratic law on humanitarian grounds. I fear in the long run that the UK giving any credence to Sharia law will be in direct and stark conflict to future humanitarian efforts by the UK irregardless if it is on a national or international level.

Im sorry..This makes me want to bring him to my house and hide him here..A 19 year old just beginning life to be murdered because he is gay makes my stomach turn..

Dallas, as one who concurs with your viewpoint on this my personal recommendation is for those who feel this is unjust, to read up on the origin of this projection of crimminal justice in Iran. The laws driving for, in effect, the genocide of homosexuals in Iran is called Sharia law. Take some time to read up on Sharia law , using a variety of sources ranging from western historians to lawmakers in Saudi Iran and other middle eastern countries. I would submit that your knowledge overall of the laws that drive the legal consequences of execution of homosexuals will impact your ability to navigate the future avenues where Islam clashed with sexual identity.

english common law is incompatible with sharia but our governments policy of multi culturalism has let it slip in under the wire .

Thats not the only time it has happened. I recall a story a few months ago that Britian was entertaining notions of allowing married Islamic couples to divorce according to Sharia Law superceding the laws in UK. That seems multi-culturalism gone amok! Where the hell are the feminists on this issue!
