What must Belgian patriots do to save their country now, when politicians aren't even allowed to express their opinions?

Do people seriously not care that this sort of censorship is happening? In a sense I can understand that they were arrested for holding a banned protest, but the reasons for banning it aren't so solid. Afraid to upset the Muslims? The low countries' experiment with multiculturalism is failing, and it's time the leaders realize that.

Allow me to bring up a little experience my girlfriend's cousin recently had on his last visit back to his sister's house in Rotterdam. He made the mistake of being an autochtoon and proud Dutchman when he was attacked by a group of three immigrants on the way back from an old friend's house. He was found shortly afterwards and taken to a nearby hospital with 2 stab wounds and significant bruising. He is fortunate enough to be back in the states now and very close to being fine again, with just a few new scars. The reason I bring this up is that maybe what's happening over there deserved a protest. From what I hear this certainly wasn't a unique case.

Worse yet, what if someday the same thing were to happen back over here in the USA? What if we weren't allowed to protest out of fear that it would provoke violence from immigrant groups? It's a scary thought indeed.

Sorry if this post offends anyone. I'm just ****** off that this sort of thing is happening.

This isn't reserved for just right-wing "patriots." If city leaders ban an event and you host it, that's considered breaking the law.

Yeah... but the laws need to be just in the first place. I thought that I had read this wrong - that the protest was against laws forbidding Muslims from immigrating to Brussels. Given the nature of the protest, I'd say it's a good thing he's silenced.

Most if not all EU countries have laws that can proscribe Demonstrations and marches. That do not meet safety and police objections as to stewarding arrangements. This has been upheld in the European court of Justice. There are set procedures for getting permissions and requirements to be met... there are also appeals processes in place.
Any one not prepared to meet these regulations and carries on regardless deserves to be arrested.
I can only imagine they went ahead in the hope of being arrested for the publicity value to other morons.
