Isn't it time that Tony Blair stepped down as the PM and allowed a more cappable person to have a go at running this mockery known as the UK?
It really says alot when even his own party is turning on him: http://news.sky.com/skynews/article/...566545,00.html To be honest he has made me think twice about voting for labour to carry on running us! I'm a working class guy and despite me really not liking the conservative party so much i'm kind of thinking that they can't mess it up any more then Blair has! Should he step down now? If so, who should take over? Thoughts anyone?

I like Tony Blair. When thinking about world leaders, I would put him at the top, whereas I would put Bush at the bottom. I don't know how anyone could make a comparison between the two.

Much as I take issue with his baffling collusion with the Bush administration, I find him a rather likeable character, certainly more articulate than our own fearless leader (which, as I think of it, isn't saying much).
I expect he'll buy a pair of shorts and retire to Grand Bahama. Perhaps he'll take up Cricket... Last edited by Seyorni; 02-06-2007 at 11:14 AM. |

To be frank, he is another "Thatcher" or "Churchill".
The post of prime minister is not an easy one. It really takes someone with a very distinct character; unfortunately, there is no one - in any of the parties who isn't wishy-washy. I believe he is sincere-unlike most other politicians.

He will retire from PM's job late June early July.
There will not be a general election.. there never is with the change of a prime minister. I vote Liberal so it will not make much difference to me. I think he has been one of the better Prime ministers, but is is a pity he backed Bush with the war. He will stay on in parliament as a back bencher to start with, but may well enter the government later. He will probably go back to being a Barrister as well.

Thatcher and Churhill were Truly great leaders! How are they even remotely comparable to Blair? The latter doesn't even have a backbone! I would really like to see the way Blair would deal with a real war that he hasn't incited or the revolutions that Maggie had to deal with!

I've lost interest in UK politics beyond the local election level. Brown, Cameron and Campbell don't strike me as people capable of strong leadership. I think its all a farce.
