Seriously, Prince?! I think they are at least a decade late on that pick. When's the last time he put something out? And if I'm mistaken and there is something relatively recent then when was the last time his music was popular in the mainstream except as a 'classic'. (And yes, I do mean for the present young uns)

![]() Speaking of Prince putting something out, that might be part of why they chose him -- he hasn't been that naughty since the early 80s. They don't need another "wardrobe malfunction." Quote:
3121 came out last year, but I would probably not be the person to ask about how well it did. Also, keep in mind that the Superbowl looks to entertain people across 3 generations, so that entails some compromise, musically speaking. |

Not only am I disappointed that it was Prince, but more to the point that they generally have more than one artist. And keeping that in mind, they tend to find someone to entertain several generations. That's by far the worst half time show I've ever seen. Now all I have left to look forward to is the commercials.

The only thing that I saw was Prince, and the Colts kick a field goal to make in 19 to 14. My brother is a huge Prince fan and even he thought this choice was a mistake. Prince was an awesome musician and songwriter, but he is past his prime. He didn't even seem very into it himself. He seemed kinda bored. And it was strange... a medley of his old songs and covers of other people's songs.
Remember U2 in Superbowl 2002? just months after 9/11... They were amazing, meaningful, healing. Everything since has seemed like disposable plastic.
