There's no need to belittle me. I'm at least half as intelligent as you think you are, and I'm perfectly capable of understanding what you're saying.

In the case of the fashion industry, yes. In the case of general society, I would still say that's not entirely accurate. Fashion models on runways in New York, and Paris, and Milan are hideously thin. The average woman in a commercial for Folger's Coffee is not. Not really. I have very little interest in the fashion industry outside of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and most of what I have posted related to fashion is very specific to Bosnia and Herzegovina. I've shared other things, I'm sure - but I'm also sure 90% of what I've mentioned is local.

Well, it's a shocking thing and a horrible condemnation of the fashion industry - but a beauty pageant at Hotel Aqua in Sarajevo is not a runway in Milan. There is nothing wrong with condemning the practices demonstrated by the worldwide fashion industry, while at the same time truly enjoying beauty and fashion. Well, they probably not sick. At least, they exhibit the same body types that are common throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina, and indeed most of Europe with the exception of wealthier countries like the United Kingdom, Germany, and France.

As for the girl who is obviously sick - it's plainly obvious to me that her body is strikingly different than what is normal in Bosnia and Herzegovina. So I have no doubts in my mind when I say that she is probably anorexic, and that's a horrible thing. But it's not as though this is a runway in Milan where all the girls are her size. And what are you going to do? Say you need a certain height/weight balance to compete in pageants? It would be a good idea, but there will be girls that size whom are healthy, who don't look weak and sick. The first-runner up, for example, is a foot taller than this skinny blonde and about the same size - but she looks healthy. Her face is full, and her body is shaped in such a way that I've seen hundreds of times around town. I would feel confident saying she is very thin, but naturally that way - as a small number of women are.

I never said Bosnian women are desired the world over. I said Slavic women dominate the modelling industry. Most of them are Czech or Slovak, a significant portion Russian. In the Balkans, Croatia probably has the most models internationally while Serbia has the most locally. Bosnia is at the absolute bottom in this regard. I only know one truly, internationally well-known Bosnian model among fashion lovers and that's Aida Vrabac.

That's your own mistake. The largest girl, literally - the largest girl in the pageant - won it. No one rewarded the skinny, sickly blonde girl for her looks. She didn't even make it into the Top 10. The biggest girl took the crown. If that continues progressively, one would assume the winner of Miss Bosnia would be absolutely enormous.

But we don't hold that ideal, that's another mistake on your part. If we held that ideal, the skinny sickly blonde girl would've won. She didn't. We have our own tastes, completely independent of the fashion industry in Western Europe and North America. And that's the same everywhere. Look back at all the winners of the Miss America pageant and I bet you'll not be able to find more than two or three who ever came close to a career in modelling - because the Americans didn't pick anorexic models, they picked women they find beautiful - and those two things are very different in this world today.
