Default Fuel Prices

Does it annoy any of you guys that Kevin Rudd is always talking up how they're going to drop fuel prices, but all they ever do is go up?
I mean we're on easy street currently as we still produce 40% of our own oil from WA and the Bass Straight, but why is fuel going up about 4c a week?
The whole fuel watch scheme is total garbage. I cant really talk since Sydney is 30c a litre dearer, but i wish the government would cut the rubbish and do something about it.
Maybe put the money they waste putting schemes together to research alternatives?

What do you think?
