K. Rudd is a smart man no doubt. He speaks Mandarin and has worked tirelessly in his position as newly appointed leader to implement his mandate.
However, I find his positioning on petrol pricing and other issues tiresome. At least a significant portion of the electorat voted for him on the basis that he "would" implement real policy change from the populist Howard government and not attempt to replicate Howard in personal style. Thoughts?

He's doing well in my opinion. I just wish the petrol pricing thing would go away, people need to realise that it costs more because there isnt enough oil to go around anymore.
I just wish the politicians would cut the crap and do what needs to be done, rather than doing things to make themselves look good. My problem is why are Australian government agencies encouraging people to use oil, i think they should be encouraging public transport. Oh right, they cant, because it would collapse since its already pretty dodgy. See in 1 hit they can take out problems with congestion, deal with carbon emmissions, deal with fuel prices and fix a terrible public transport system (to some extent of course). As an engineering student i'm sick and tired of researching how we need to be sustainable, but watching our government sit on their lorals concerning the situation. Do you think the policy is any good or better than Howards, i mean signing Kyoto is a step, but when we're increasingly consuming oil is it enough? |
