This is written Very much tongue in Cheek,
When Pc became more common in the 1980s, i suppose you could say now<2006, we have users, from 3 generations. Now to the current and next generation, using computer is just plain second nature, however for those of us who were around before the advent of computer there are somethings about them that we are still coming to terms with. I was wondering If there are people like me who get all tangledfoot in Marrying up old style values with modern technology. When I was growing up I was always taught it was polite Not to Interupt others unless it was important. So Let's see where this leaves me with todays technology, especially IMing. As I click online and there is a friend already there! so be ing the polite considerate young man that i am. I think OK so maybe they are busy or talking to someone else, I won't interupt, They will see me and get to me, when they are free.End result; After about 96 hours I am beginning to think Hmmm! maybe this person doesn't want to Talk to me .How about mobile phones;? You doal a friend and Find that either they have rhier phone turned off or they don't answer and you get that delightful message " welcome to the XYZ telecomunications network, the person you are trying to reach is unavailable.. Blah blah please try again Later" Again being the polite conciderate being you think Ok so maybe they are busy and can't answer or they may have visitors and have turned the phone off and since I am such a wizard at texting ( Iam up the 4 minutes a word now!~) I'll leave them a text message " Hi Tried to ring you , phone busy or turned off, please text me when you are free! " then settle down to wait for the expected text message. After about 48 hours it's "Hmmm! maybe this person is trying to tell me something!" How about Typos or wrong word! You spend 2 hours typing a short text message and you have included a word or typo that changes the whole context of the message you are trying to convey. You then Spend the next six months sharing the doghouse trying to convince both Rover and your loved one what you really meant. Have any others had mishaps they would like to share?

OK it seems that nobody has been made to look silly by modern technology ! Come on Now tell the truth How many of you have tried to carry on a conversation with these new fangled voice message when you ring up certain help desks. You Know the ones I mean: These are the ones where you ring the help desk and it say" Welcome to company XYZ now in a few words tell us what your problem is" (Vj puts his hand up).
the first couple of time when it asked that i have responded " well the dooverlaccky that connected to the thingybob>>." and they came back " I' m sorry ..in a few words please tell us what they problem is" I am thinking you rude person. Then " well you know when you connect...?" Again it's "I'm sorry in a few words please tell us what your problem is" as I said this was when this type of thing first came in and after about three time it resulted in me slamming down the phone in anger! Yes I know I am as thick as two planks, But you have to remember that you are dealing with a person who as a very young boy actually believed that there was a real person who sat at the other end of the phone and told you " At the third beep it will be 1.30 and 22 seconds
