apart from submitting posts to this forums has any one doe any other writing i.e magazine articles Letters to the editor, short stories Etc?
Have you had anything published? I've done a few letters to the editor of newspaper, and written speeches and a couple of short stories ( Non published) these were just practice type things. It's funny though because at school english was one of my poorer subjects, but I seem to have a bit of a knack to putting words on to paper . However, and I do confess that since i started using the computer I have become a very lazy speller and I will sometime just dash something off without proofreading it.

I did a few letters to the editor in the newspapers. I do speeches at my temple from time to time (all of which I read; I can't talk from the top of my head - I hate public speaking). One of the speeches I did at temple was about a story I got as an email. One man in the audience liked it so much, he asked me for a copy and gave it to his brother who works at a radio station and he read it on air.

I've had a letter to the editor published one time. I think it had something to do with government spending on the arts (which I am against). Oh well.

I've got a stack of notebooks that are all books I've started, but never finished. One story I kept changing so much, I scraped the idea entirely. Another one I quit because the sci-fi genre is over-used. Another one I might finish eventually, if I can decide how to fill in all the gaps between major events. And then thier was another I started not too long ago, and after many hours of writing, and even though I still have the story all in my head from start to finish, it's going to take me forever to finish, as the story spans alittle more than five years. It's a very indepth war and romance novel that I really want to finish, with a good message, but it will take me forever. I really like the near ending, which keeps me motivated somewhat. The hero's wife is brutally murdered during a raid on their base/home. Thier youngest son is saved, but thier oldest is kidnapped, and assumed dead. The hero becomes a cold-hearted monster, who in one scene, gets a group together to launch an attack on a small village occupied by his enemies. He orders everyone thier killed. After the town has been destroyed, he finds the man who killed his wife, and finds his wife. He breaks the guys legs so he can't run, tells one of his men to hold his head still, so he is forced to watch his wife being tortured, and very slowly and painfully killed, before he is killed himself. Close to the end, he confronts his son, whom he believes is a traitor, they fight, and he makes him suffer greatly for "betraying his mother." Hours after killing his son, he realises the beast he had become, gives command of his new territory to his brother, and then leaves to live a life of exile.

I write poetry and the occassional short story and was working on a novel at one point. None of my writing has been published, except for a letter to the editor and some talking points that appeared in some literature for a mayor campaign that I helped with.
