Front page of the Atlanta Journal Constitution no less:
After millions of dollars and a 7-year wait... IT'S A PANDA! According to the article, the baby was born at 4:51 PM and "50% of panda births result in twins". Very cool.

Atlanta's Panda gets beautiful name.
"Atlanta, America, the world: Meet Mei Lan. That’s the name officially given Friday morning to the Giant Panda cub born at Zoo Atlanta. Translated from Mandarin Chinese, it means “Atlanta beauty.” It is pronounced “May-lan,” and will be the animal’s name for life." Each day this week, the Atlanta Journal Constitution has dedicated a page to baby panda pictures and facts. Their website even has a 'Panda Watch' section. It's a very exciting time to be a !
