Man Stabs Nun: "God is Great!"

CAIRO, Oct 19 (Reuters) - A young man stabbed a nun and a man in a church in the Egyptian city of Alexandria on Wednesday, police sources in the city said.

The man shouted "God is great" when he burst into St. George's Coptic church in the city on Egypt's northern coast.

Some 1,000 Muslims last week held a protest outside the church because they said it had put on a play which was offensive to Islam.

The police arrested the attacker and said the injuries he had caused were not serious.

More than 90 percent of Egypt's 70 million people are Muslim, with Christians the second biggest denomination.

With the topic at hand, I do not mean it as "funny" as hilarious; comical (as usual, I was taken the wrong way) but odd that what people will do under religious madness and to prove their beliefs or to force another into their own.

I find it hard to understand what could make someone hate someone else because of their religious practice. I suppose, it all comes down to the idea that people want to live in a society that reflects their values; but how is it possible that Christians, Jews and Muslims should have different values? I've read the Bible and the Koran; they share far more than not. Thousands of people have been killed in the name of Islam over the last ten years; why? What does Islam have against the world? Is it the same as the Christian Crusades? I don't think so (although in another thread it was indicated by a Muslim that he believes that Arab Muslums are entitled to the goods and resources of the West).

I know many Catholics that still believe that all other religions, even Christian religions, other than Catholicism are paths to hell and are in service of the Devil. ***? What is wrong with people today?
