Film examines 9/11 Jewish conspiracy theories


In the weeks and months after 9/11, Jews in the US, Europe and even in Israel confronted a series of disturbing questions and assertions concerning an alleged Jewish conspiracy to destroy the World Trade Center.

For American-Jewish filmmaker Mark Levin, the director of the soon-to-be released documentary The Protocols of Zion, inspiration for his latest film came after an encounter he had in a New York City taxi soon after 9/11. His driver, an Egyptian immigrant, made the claim that the Jews had been warned not to go to work at the World Trade Center on the day of the attack. The driver then said that "it's all written in the book," referring to The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, a notorious forgery created 100 years ago that purported to be the Jews' master plan to rule the world.

As Levin discovered in the course of filming, this notorious conspiracy text has been enjoying a widespread revival in the aftermath of 9/11.

Mixing archival materials and interviews with militant African-Americans, white supremacists and Palestinian-Americans among others, Levin exposes both the history and the current resurgence of the fabrication and distribution of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion. In the course of the 90-minute film, Levin meets with the editor of The Arab Voice, a New Jersey-based newspaper that has recently serialized the protocols, and includes clips of The Knight Without A Horse, a 2002 Egyptian film dramatization of the protocols.

well i don't believe it is full of crap especially when one considers that not one israeli national died in the crashing of the buildings, and that it was israeli nationals not arabs who got them selves arrested because they were taking pictures, laughing, dancing, and high fiving each other as the towers were crashing down. another thing to consider is that fox news (shocking but true) did a story on israeli spy rings involved in among other things the 9-11 incedent. this by the way was shanked right off the air yet thanks god can be found on the net. so with this said, i don't think that the idea of zionist involvement is that far out of an idea at all. that saddest part of this however is that the every day devout jewish man woman and child is being blamed for things done by someone with a political agenda who claims the same religion.

Early estimates of Israeli deaths, as of the total death toll and the death toll for other countries' citizens (e.g. India), proved substantially exaggerated (George W. Bush cited the figure of 130 in his speech of September 20).

The number of Jewish victims, as one might expect in New York, was considerably higher, estimated at 400-500."

The five Israelis, Sivan Kurzberg, Paul Kurzberg, Yaron Shmuel, Oded Ellner and Omer Marmari, were kept in custody in the federal Metropolitan Detention Center in Sunset Park for approximately two months, eventually being deported back to Israel on November 20-21, 2001."

The point, though, of the film is to discuss the theories, not on Zionist involvement in 9/11, but on JEWISH involvment in 9/11. that this tragedy was a JEWISH plot.

but again, more and more these days, it seems to me, the two words have become interchangable.
