IDF: All reserve combat units to be drafted for pullout
The mobilization of IDF reserve soldiers ahead of the implementation of this summer's disengagement plan has begun, a senior IDF officer said on Monday.
According to the senior officer, who addressed the Knesset's Defense and Foreign Affairs Committee on Monday, all of the army's reserve combat units will be called up for military duty this summer.
The officer noted that the reserve mobilization was set in motion in order to allow soldiers in their regular service to train for the evacuation. The reserve soldiers are slated to replace the regular service soldiers, who will be the ones to carry out the actual evacuation.
