Police prevent Right road-blocking attempts in J'lem, TA





Police raised the national alert level Monday morning and deployed large forces along major highways across the country in preparation for road blocks and acts of civil disturbance threatened by right-wing extremists protesting the upcoming disengagement.

As of Monday afternoon, Israel Police successfully prevented multiple road-blocking attempts in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Police also uncovered suspicious objects with anti-pullout slogans attached to them, as well as several stashes of tires, which were to be used during road blockings.
Special police forces trained in dispersing demonstrations were on standby Monday, in addition to the police's helicopter unit, which is to be used to speedily transfer the forces to demonstrations across the country.
