Summer 07 Midwest gathering????
Ok, Feathers and I have volunteered to try out a midwest gathering in the Chicago/Joliet area. I have info requests to hotels there. But, we need to know when and a ball park of how many are interested...we know cost is a determining factor as is timing. This is not a committment, but a plan base.
Choose your first choice on each type of thing given....anything you can tell us further will only help!!!! We are thinking of a Fri afternoon or evening to Sunday noon window, with some coming and going as schedules permit, of course. I was hoping for the June date because Katzpur could be there Friday night!!!! An added bonus! Also, just to let people know, it appears that Joliet (which is 46 miles from the center of downtown Chicago towards the southwest) would be a bit cheaper, if that is a consideration.

That would be a consideration for me. I imagine that being able to navigate to get there would be easier, too.

Having lived in Chicago for many years, I would like to warn you all that Chicago gets very, very hot in the summer. Once all that concrete and brick gets baked by the sun for a month or so, it just never cools off, even at night. When it rains, you can watch the moisture steaming off the masonry.
Also, it's an expensive place to rent rooms, and to get around in if you aren't used to it. If you want to meet in that part of the country, I'd suggest picking some smaller town where the weather is cooler and the rooms are cheaper, and with a nice park where everyone could meet for a big picnic or something. Just a thought.

Even though I am from PA, I can travel almost anywhere and would like to go to as many as I can to meet everyone. I can do Chicago.
