Buddhism:
The Chinese monk, formerly a minster of Empress Wu Zetian, who assisted in editing the translation of the Shurangama Sutra in the early 8th century AD. A Tibetan monk living in the 14th century AD, who served as Abbot of the Samye Monastery and was recognized as on of the three manifestations of Manjusuri; his most famous work is the compendium of seven works, including Theg-mchog-mdzod, the "Treasury of the Sublime Vehicle" Islam: A Sunni scholar of Persian ancestry whose theological position was Mu'tazili and conservative. He was known for his extrordinary ability to remember things, and eventually became a renowned Hadith scholar. He converted to Islam after talking to Abu Bakr, but is best known for forming the committee to write down the Quran into Standard Arabic in an attempt to prevent a schism among the Muslim community. |

No, Mani attempted the same thing as Baha'u'llah - a fusion of all world religions of his time including Christianity, Judaism, Zoroastrianism and Buddhism. Baha'u'llah attempted the same thing, only 1,600 years later, only time will tell if he will be as successful as Mani was.
