This one could be very hard, or it could be very easy - I'm really not sure.
There is something in this video, it's in the audio portion rather than the video portion, that is stereotypically Islamic in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is something held in high esteem by Muslims, but ridiculed and frowned upon by most Bosnians of other faiths. It's not something you need to be able to speak the language to understand. She could just as easily be singing in English, but there's something in the style of the vocals that stands out from Christian, Jewish, and other music in the Balkans. ![]() http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SKrDh6HiCGE The same audio oddity exists in this video as well. ![]() http://youtube.com/watch?v=d_0R2QJXiAA What is it? HINT: It will rule out several more obvious options if you listen to both songs before answering.

Okay, I listened to both songs and I think I hear something definitively Islamic in the vocal tones and tembre of the music, but what it is called in Bosnia or how unique it is is to your people is beyond me, I'm afriad. Couldn't you have given multiple choice or something? I am not au fait with this aspect of Bosnian Islamism.

It's not really something Islamic. It has absolutely nothing to do with the religion, lets say. It is, however, something associated with Muslims here, something that is liked by many Muslims, and not liked by an equal majority of members of other faiths.
Neither of these is the answer, but here is a multiple choice example: A) Deep voice? B) Running the words together? C) Screaming high-pitch? etc...

I listened to both also and could not figure it out either. The only thing I can think of is the quaran states you are not to listen to music. Could it be as simple as that?
Probably not. |
