I am one of the most striking examples of Islamic architecture in the Ottoman Empire. I am the bridge where the legendary Fata took her life in 1609. I am a legend, I'm even the reason for one Nobel Prize...
![]() In the 1990s, more than 2,000 men, women and children were lined up along my length, their throats slit, and the bodies thrown in the river. Thousands of survivors from a certain faith commemorate this massacre every month... ![]() The old mosque near me, that was destroyed in 1992, has been re-opened... where am I? ![]() 1. What is my name? 2. Where am I located? 3. What Nobel Prize is associated with me?

Ooh... close, Lizskid. You've guessed the right country and the right author, in terms of the connection with the Nobel Prize.
But that's as far as you've gotten. Wrong bridge, wrong book. This is the bridge at Mostar:![]()

Hmmm...okay, something significant happened in relation to this bridge in 1967.
And the name of the town where it is located is also the name of a town in Hungary, though they're pronounced completely differently.
