"Where am I?" EUROPEAN.01
Each edition of "Where am I?" EUROPEAN will feature two different locations. The first will be a relatively easy one, and the second will be more difficult. Each will come with one indirect hint.
The first person to correctly identify both locations wins frubals! "Where am I?" EUROPEAN.01 EASY. Neva forget you're in a museum.  HARD. It's quite nice watching the sun set over the ocean to the West.

EASY: You're in St. Petersburg, Russia -- specifically, the Admiralty district.
If you look really close, you can see St. Isaac's Cathedral (circled below).  HARD: Don't know yet; I'm better at easy.

Bravo on the first part.
Another hint for the second part... it was bombed from the air, sea, and land recently enough that photographs of its 11 months under siege are in color. It's also, politically speaking but not literally, on an island. It is completely disconnected, via political borders, from the rest of the country it belongs to.
