During his Inaugural speech today, President Bush, Jr. said the Koran and Bible are equal in truth.
His Vice-President, Richard Cheney took the oath of Vice-President on the Bible being held by a lesbian (one of Cheney's daughters). Are President Bush, Jr. and Vice President Cheney promoting traditional Christianity or are they promoting heresy and blasphemy? Also, President Bush, Jr. spoke against politicians who suppress the rights of women (such as the European Pope - by implication - who forbids women from becoming ministers/pastors based on gender discrimination) and said that as President of the United States he would work to end such basic violations of human rights. Will the God of the Bible bless Bush, Jr. and Cheney or will the God of the Bible withhold blessings because of what was said in the Inauguration ceremony today which was broadcast to 6,000,000,000 TV viewers? |

I am glad I did not watch it. Iam not sure about heresy or blasphemy. However, I am active online with different groups that work to protect human rights (women's and homosexuals) and what I have read just now is a sign of hypocracy(spelling), in my opinion.
The President wants to put more Justices in the Supreme Court that will overturn Roe vs. Wade and take away female rights of their own bodies but wants to end the Church's discrimination that is gender based? I am glad he proposes to do that but I feel he should also keep rosaries out of women's ovaries since his main supporters forget about Separation of Church and State. I really can't comment right now about Dick Cheney's oath because I do not know his stance on gay marriage rights. It would be unfair of me to assume that because he campaigned and won with the President that he is against the rights of gays. FBI
