Once upon a time....Baptized as a Southern Baptist. Something always bothered me about the religion and text as presented to me... The church I belonged to was VERY fire and brimstone and fairly dominionist, so very into the whole end of times, Revelation thing...
None of that made any sense to me, I just couldn't reconcile the inconsistencies within the 'inerrant' text. The translations I had read from the Eddas had always made sense to me, and had great...resonance...with me, and the rest is history. |

I was a Christian before I became a Muslim, if that counts. The whole idea of having someone else save me threw me off, then in Islam the idea of even having to be saved in the first place (among many other things) made me look elsewhere. I wandered around until some of Darkdale's posts talking about Asatru were incredibly interesting so I read on.
