Default The diffrence between God and man

I am not really the most extreme or disciplined person you will ever meet. I don’t think I will spend a month in the dessert praying and fasting anytime soon. So instead I decided to just spend a day or two at the park to get away from everyone and everything and spend some time praying and reading the bible. I didn’t see any awesome vision with dragons and angels or monsters coming out of the sea. But there were two things that really struck me. The first was while I was praying. I realized how extremely powerful and righteous God was, (of course not that I could comprehend the full extent of his power, but enough to be scary.) And I thought, “Who are we to even be able to talk to you. We lead such shallow and selfish lives. All of us are not only insignificant but deceived, because we think we are something great, but you still care about us.” I realized that humility is a state of mind that is much more acquainted with the truth then pride. Another thing that really hit me was these verses-

Quote:
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess. [Thou] blind Pharisee, cleanse first that [which is] within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also. Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead [men's] bones, and of all uncleanness. Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.

I also believe this verse goes along with this passage: “As a man thinketh in his heart so is he.” God sees the inner man: the secrets that people keep from the rest of the world. God sees what’s in a persons thoughts and imagination, and portraying a different image to the world is considered hypocrisy. It’s not that I never heard this verse before, but I never realized how much it applied to me. I know that my thoughts need to be right in the sight of God. There is no law in any country that can regulate thought, only the expression of it. But God is greater in power and knowledge and judges even what a person thinks and their secret motives.

I also think it is important to control our thoughts. Thoughts can even shape our actions. Thoughts and intents behind actions are very important. For example we can do something good for someone but do it with a bad mind.
