Scott1, i would like to mention one thing. i was told that God choses more than 90% of people. if one of these people wants to reach God, he'd be saved. 90% includes more than theists. it also includes atheists, wiccans even satanists. the rest of humans, like less than 10% of people who's living today are not chosen by God. which means they are doomed. 10% could also includes different races and people from different religions.

an atheist does not believe there is God. God still loves him and God still wants him to earn heaven. so invites him. yet there is a kind of men who knows there is God. he also knows how people could be saved. but they chose to give wrong information and to lead people to hell knowingly. there are also some religious leaders who deny the truth. religious people, because of their position in life, lead masses. in case they are leading people to hell, those leaders would be in that 10% too. there are imams in that small amount of people. sometimes, a man hears the truth, he goes and asks imam, if it was true. imam says it is a lie, so imam prevents his salvation. that imam is doomed. he has no chance at all.

i hope i make it clear. God choses everyone even if he is atheist, gay, porn star...etc. but God does not chose those who prevent others to join the right path.
